In the fourth quarter of 2022, Sensor Tower data revealed interesting trends for the top five Photo and Video applications on a unified platform in Portugal. The apps under review were CapCut - Video Editor, Instagram, YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream, Lensa AI: photo & video editor, and Snapchat.

CapCut - Video Editor from Bytedance Pte. Ltd saw a significant rise in weekly downloads, which started at around 14.8K in late September and peaked at 56.1K in the last week of December. This growth was mirrored in its weekly active users, which increased from approximately 111K to 205K over the same period. Revenue also showed upward momentum, climbing from negligible amounts early in the quarter to about $145 by the end of December.

Instagram maintained a consistent performance throughout Q4 2022. Weekly downloads ranged from 13.8K to 24.6K, peaking in the last week of December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 3.75M mark. Revenue saw a modest increase, starting at $278 and reaching $417 by the end of the quarter.

YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream by Google experienced steady weekly revenue, with figures fluctuating between $12K and $23K. Downloads showed a noticeable upward trend towards the end of the quarter, rising from about 6.8K to 16.2K. Active users remained robust, consistently around the 5.8M mark.

Lensa AI: photo & video editor by Prisma labs, inc. witnessed a remarkable spike in revenue in late November, hitting $42K in early December before tapering off to $4.4K by the end of the month. Weekly downloads followed a similar pattern, surging to over 43K in late November and then settling at around 2K by the end of December. Active users peaked at about 62K in early December before declining to 14.6K.

Snapchat by Snap, Inc. showed consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 8.6K to 14.2K, with the highest numbers recorded in the last week of December. Active users hovered around the 1.25M mark throughout the quarter. Revenue remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at $313.
